My name is Celia Cheung, nickname Cil. I'm a Taurus born in the year of the Rooster. I'm mostly self-taught, and I've travelled a bit. I’ve been highly influenced by manga, anime, and those big thick colouring books from the 80’s. I like martial arts, art stuff, mo-peds, and small motorcycles.
I was born in Winnipeg and spent my teen years in Calgary, so there's nothing about high altitude Canadian winters that can faze me. I am currently living in Vancouver, Richmond.
I survived three years in the animation program at ECIAD, Vancouver. I've since graduated with a BFA from the University of Calgary, in a degree program called Developmental Arts, which focuses on pedagogy via the artistic medium, with an emphasis on Reggio Emilia philosophy.
Since 2008 I have spent five years in the mobile game industry, five years in animation, with several years' worth in between of freelance graphics work, creating 2D animated gifs for game sprites, photograph enhancements, assets for web and game design, developing graphics for print, and some gallery time as well. In total I have spent five years in games, and ten years in the animation industry. I'm always open to trying out other industries that require 2D graphic problem solving. I'm otherwise hugely flexible and very much self-guided, can work without supervision, and am known for my ability to crack out assets extremely quickly.
